New Yorkers

KARINA
TEACHER FERNANDA - SATURDAY
The name of the book I read was New Yorkers and there are five stories. The one I liked the most was the Christmas Present.

It talked about a woman, “Della”, who lived in a poor house with her husband James. But his job was not good.
She would like to buy a present for him. She went to the shopping mall with little money, but the things were expensive.
Then, she met Madame Eloise-Hair. Della asked if she would like to buy her hair.
Madame Eloise said “I can pay twenty dollars”. So she had her hair cut and bought the present.
She went to her house feeling afraid because she thought he wouldn’t love her anymore.
When he came back from his job, she said “I had my hair cut to buy a present for you”. And he said he loved her, for him it wasn’t important if she had a short or a long hair, but the important thing was his love for her.
She gave a new chain for him.

A Sport I Like

FRANCILENE
TEACHER DICKSON

I love to play volleybal. When I was a child I used to play volleyball with my friends on the streets or in the school. But some years later, we grew up, started working and having responsabilities. Some girls had babies or left the city. After that, I haven't played volleyball again.
I have already practiced rafting with some friends. It was too exciting, but a little dangerous too. You need to take a course quickly. In fact, there are some clues that you need to hear before going out with your boat. The problem is that this sport is a little expensive and sometimes we don't have money to practice it. Then I thought: "I'd like to do something that I don't need to spend money and at the same time work out alone".
So I bought a bike and started riding in my neighborhood... Some weeks later, I went to another city. Now, I go everywhere riding a bike. It's fantastic experience... You can feel the wind blowing in your face, have fun and lose weight too.
It's wonderful, isn't it?

Robin Hood

DANIEL LUIZ
Teacher Jéssica

This book is about Robert Fitzooth, a man who used to steal from the rich to give to the poor ones.
Robert Fitzooth, also called Robin Hood, was born in the forest of Sherwood and died in this same forest, beside his wife, Marian.
During his life, he fought against injustice, against the sheriff and John, a false king.

SOUTH AFRICAN WORLD CUP

Hi There!
The World Cup is right around the corner... Here you have the song that is promoting the World Cup.
This version contains parts in English and in Español.

WAVING FLAG
(K'naan ft. David Bisbal)
Give me freedom
Give me fire
Give me reason
Take me higher
See the champions
Take the field now
Unify us
Make us feel proud

En las calles muchas manos
levantadas, celebrando
una fiesta sin descanzo
los paises como hermanos

Canta y une tu voz
grita fuerte que te escuche el sol
el partido ya va a comenzar
todos juntos vamos a ganar
Unidos!
Seremos grandes,
seremos fuertes
somos un pueblo
bandera de libertad
que viene y que va(3x)

When I get older
I will be stronger
they'll call me freedom
just like a waving flag
Now wave your flag(3x)
ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh
Danos vida
danos fuego
que nos lleve a lo alto
campeones o vencidos
pero unidos a internarlos

In the streets
are exalted people
as we lose our inhibitions
celebration is around us
every nation all around us

Singing forever young, singing
songs underneath the sun
let's rejoice to the beautiful game
and together at the end of day
Seremos grandes,
seremos fuertes
somos un pueblo
bandera de la libertad
que viene y que va(3x)

When I get older
I will be stronger
they'll call me freedom
just like a wavin flag
Now wave your flag(3x)
ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh
Unidos!
Seremos grandes,
seremos fuertes
somos un pueblo
bandera de la libertad

When I get older
I will be stronger
they'll call me freedom
just like a wavin flag
Now wave your flag (3x)
ohhh ohhh ohhh ohhh
And everybody
will be singing...

Things that irritate me

WANDERSON LIMA
AIMING AT THE SKY - SATURDAY - TEACHER JÉSSICA

I get irritated when people take my objects without asking  or go to my place without asking or giving me a call saying it. What bothers me the most is when they go to my bedroom and touch all my things without my permission.
I hate when they touch my things, even my parents and sister, if they ask me before touching everything, maybe I can allow it. When it happens I get crazy and start to yell: "Stop, please. Straighten up this mess and put everything back or everybody out of my place right now."
Hardly ever is it necessary because they always listen to me and do what I say. If someday you go to my place, please, no mess and do not touch anything.
It'll be better for everyone! It was a joke ( hehehe)

I like soccer because it is the most played sport around the world and also because it is a good sport for the body and the mind of people.
I play soccer every Tuesday and Thursday at CSU with my friends who also like to play.
The thing about soccer is that you can score many goals but you can get a bad injury.

This city has wonderful places with beaches and dunes and very beautiful women.
The people are very considerate, very polite, but they are calm, they don't have hurry.
In this city you can walk along the beaches, take a boat, drive a buggy at the dunes.
The typical food is fish and jerked beef.
This city has the name of the city of the sun because the sun is intensive all year long.
You need to know Natal!

My friend...

LETÍCIA
AIMING AT THE SKY – MONDAY/WEDNESDAY – TEACHER JÉSSICA.

My friend’s name is Enzo. He is 17 years old. He has a sister, her name is Amy, she is older than he is. He studies English and Italian for 2 hours a day. He has to study languages four times a week. He studies English because he likes and Italian because his parents are from Italy.

He enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and going to parties. He was going to a soccer event, but it was raining. On his next vacation, he is going to have a blind date.

Living in another city...

If you had to live in another city, which city would you choose?
BEATRIZ HELENA RAINHA ARAÚJO - TEACHER CLEIDE

If I had to move, I would like to live in Paris because there are many beautiful and speacial places there. The most difficult thing is learning French and going there because Brazil is very distant. The advantages of living there are that you can buy clothes, because Paris's clothes are very beautiful, but the disadvantages are that the clothes are very expensive. My parents will be distant from me and I will miss speaking Portuguese.
